Some Call Me The Gangster Of Love

Twas the night before my b-day, and all through the incredibly cluttered NYC apartment, not a creature was stirring…except for my dog! Aaaaaanyways…while I’d made it out of work early (meaning 5:40pm, :-P) to get ready for my planned birthday extravaganza, I still needed to put together a party outfit, write a blog post & FC a song before I could even BEGIN getting ready to go out. Oh goody! So much to do, so little time…though I should be used to this by now since that’s how I feel EVERY DAMN DAY since I started my new job!

By the time I got around to the singing portion of the evening, I didn’t have much time at my disposal, so I selected Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker”, hoping its short running time would allow me to complete a number of 100% attempts before I had to pack it in. The 2/, 2/sk2, 2/sk1 path by gghost also seemed pretty easy to follow…or so I thought!

Unfortunately, the pressure I was under to finish my session quickly proved a distraction right from the start, making it near-impossible for me to concentrate on following the path AND switching octaves where necessary to hit some of the song’s low-pitched phrases reliably. Ugh! Thus, what should have been a quick FC turned into a nearly hour-long ordeal, and I didn’t even have a chance to enter my (3rd place) score or upload the video before heading out…meaning none of that got done until I got home from spending the bulk of my actual b-day hanging with my mom who’d flown into town for the occasion! But hey, I’m sure you’ll forgive a gal for not wanting to be late to her own party…won’t you?
