In The Midnight Hour She Wants More, More, More!

October 31, 2009 at 11:13 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Argh! Holy Halloween hangover Batman! Even though my head is still pounding from last night’s festivities, I promised I’d write a proper article about my “Rebel Yell” FC from Friday night once I’d mostly recovered, and I don’t want to start breaking promises now! It’s not gonna be a long one though, since most of my energy is still directed towards keeping my brains from spilling out my ears…ugghhh!

We’ll Have Time For Coffee Flavored Kisses, And A Bit Of Conversation Oh

October 30, 2009 at 10:40 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Don’t really have much time to write this post, since I have to wolf down dinner & head to the theater to kick off the big Halloween Weekend shows with my Rocky Horror crew, but I wanted to get something up on the blog tonight so I don’t have to play major catch-up tomorrow. I’m already astounded that I got so much accomplished since leaving work, and getting my “Last Train To Clarksville” article done will be the icing on the productivity cake! Mmmmm, productivity cake! *drool*

No Time To Think About What She’s Done

October 30, 2009 at 12:27 am (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Yesterday evening was chock full of activity pretty much from the moment I left work, which explains why it took me so long to get my last post published. Before even getting home, I had to stop by my local temporary Halloween costume superstore and find something, ANYTHING to wear on Saturday! With that task out of the way, I arrived at my abode, started some laundry (stupid work sprung a dress code on me 3 weeks after I got hired and now all I can wear is black & white, ugh!) and then let my dog out of his crate, at which point he totally freaked out, running to and fro around my living room in an extra-spastic manner, even for him. Turns out he’d had his first potty accident in his crate since he was a baby, so it was time for an emergency puppy bath, oh what fun! Once I got him cleaned up and dry, it was time to tackle my chosen song of the night (“And She Was” by Talking Heads) so that I could get in a little co-op Borderlands playtime before my friends logged off. Don’t even get me started on how hard it is to coordinate online gameplay with buddies who have “normal” schedules, sheesh!

The Stars That Pierce The Sky, He Left Them All Behind

October 29, 2009 at 1:53 am (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , , )

Yeah, so, there’s about a million (ok, maybe not that many, but at least 5!) reasons why I’m so late in posting this particular article, but at least none of them have anything to do with AFI’s “Miss Murder” being a difficult song to FC! I’d explain myself further, but really it’s a more appropriate topic for tomorrow’s post, so be sure to check back and read that one too! Aaaaaanyways, on with the recap of last night’s session…

I Know They’re Watching, They’re Watching

October 27, 2009 at 10:38 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Before starting my FC session for Kings Of Leon’s “Sex On Fire”, I tweeted a shout-out to my gal ElFiPMS that I was dedicating my daily song to her & she should watch me FC it on my stream. Why dedicate “Sex On Fire” to ElFiPMS? Well, if you knew her (or at least followed her tweets) you’d understand! Nuff said! Anyway, she was so excited she re-tweeted my stream link, and my chatroom quickly filled up with (among others) a bunch of my illustrious PMS/H2O clan brethren, including Cherish, H2OTrogdor, and H2OFabby…ooh, now the pressure was on!

‘Cause Over And Over Again Me Want More

October 26, 2009 at 7:20 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

I confess, when I have to play catch-up with the blog because of real life (or even unreal life, as in the case of my Rocky Horror stuff) getting in the way, I tend to pick songs that, while I haven’t “officially” FC’d them (i.e. no 100% ScoreHero entry), I know they won’t give me any real trouble to sing. Of course, that doesn’t always mean that I’ll finish such sessions quickly, especially now that I’m trying to work on my squeezing skills with every FC! If I didn’t care about squeezing, I’d have been finished with No Doubt’s “Underneath It All” in a mere 15 minutes, instead of the hour+ I actually spent singing the song. Damn my competitive nature!

If I Go Crazy Then Will You Still Call Me Superman?

October 26, 2009 at 12:57 am (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Before anyone asks, yes, I know it took me an inordinately long time to get this particular article posted. However, the delay had absolutely nothing to do with my having any difficulty FCing “Kryptonite” or even following Bandaddy’s 3/, 4/sk1-AS path – even though I found the squeeze on the first activation to be a bit of a pain in the ass. No, the reason I’m late to the party on this one is because I was in auditions all weekend. WHAT I was auditioning for is all very hush-hush, so I can’t really go into it here. In between the first audition yesterday & today’s callback, most of my time was occupied with sewing, sequining, laundry, and sleep, with a dose of performing Rocky Horror sandwiched somewhere in the middle. Needless to say, even though I managed to get my FC done before leaving for the show last night, there simply wasn’t time to enter my best 100% score into ScoreHero & edit/upload the video to YouTube, let alone write the accompanying article! Oh well, sometimes you have to make a sacrifice or two when a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity arises, ya know? With everything I had on my plate this weekend, I’m feeling pretty guilt-free about slacking on the blog a little bit, so there!

Ohhhhhhhhhh Won’t You Take Me Home Tonight?

October 24, 2009 at 7:04 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

Now that I’ve gotten all the on-disc The Beatles: Rock Band songs out of the way, it’s time to get back to playing Rock Band 2, which I’m sure will make several of my readers/regular stream audience very happy. My return to Rock Band 2 also happened to coincide with my 100th FC for this blog (wow, 100 days since I started already? where does the time go?!), and I could think of nothing more fitting to sing to commemorate this milestone than Queen’s “Fat Bottomed Girls”, a song I’ve been wanting to see in game since the early days of Rock Band 1.

How Do I Feel By The End Of The Day?

October 23, 2009 at 11:14 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , , , )

As I sat down to work on “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band / With A Little Help From My Friends” and officially complete my solo vox FGFC, I truly had no idea of the ordeal ahead of me. I figured that it would be a breeze to get 100% on the song, since I’d never had any real issues singing it, and all I’d have to worry about was completing a few runs so that I could squeeze a decent score out of Wickydoo’s 3/, 3/, 2/sk2, 2/ path (look ma, no end squeezes!). I should have suspected that Fate had other plans…

Don’t Let Me Down…Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

October 22, 2009 at 10:43 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , , , )

For the past week or so, I’ve been dreading this day. The day that I would HAVE to FC “Don’t Let Me Down”, the song that’s proved the BIGGEST pain in my ass to get 100% on out of all the tracks included on the TB:RB base game! I tried to make it my FC song several times before this, but always had to give up and do something else instead…all because of a single phrase that I simply could not hit consistently no matter how many collective hours I worked on it in practice mode: the “Hee hee” in the final chorus before the outro. Of course, internetguy87’s 2/sk1-ES, 3/, 2/ path didn’t make things any easier! Regardless, it was now time to put up or shut up, as I’d decided long ago that I wanted tocomplete my FGFC with “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band / With A Little Help From My Friends”, and “Don’t Let Me Down” was the only other song left standing in my way.
