I Want You To Notice When I’m Not Around

Song: Creep – Radiohead

Game: Rock Band 2

Path: 3/, 2/, 2/sk1, 2/ (anotherD)

Session length: 49:36

Total # of FCs during session: 6

Fun Fact: Initially I wasn’t sure whether to sing this one in a high or low octave. While singing low is admittedly more comfortable and far less stressful on my vocal cords, it turns out that I simply don’t have enough control when singing in my low range to consistently hit the pitches the game wants on this track. After a few disastrous low octave attempts, I went high and never looked back. So, while my voice may sound weak and reedy on most of this song, hey, it got the job done!

Your Drug Is A Heartbreaker

Song: Say It Ain’t So – Weezer

Game: Rock Band 2

Path: 2/FRS, 2/sk1, 2/sk1, 3/AT (anotherD)

Session length: 37:28

Total # of FCs during session: 5

Fun Fact: I used to have a really really REALLY hard time singing this song – don’t ask my why. Since it’s pretty boring on all the other instruments as well, it’s actually NEVER been played on my XBOX 360 console (which I got last June) until now. Fortunately, I’ve gotten a whole heck of a lot better at octave shifting since my PS3 days, but I still think this track is totally under-tiered on vox!

Spring Is Here Again

May 4, 2010 at 7:10 pm (Rock Band) (, , , , , , , , )

You probably noticed that quite a bit of time has gone by since my last post. Well, now it’s time for some major catching up! See, what I thought was just a little bug that might take me out of commission for a day or so turned out to be a severe throat/sinus infection. Between the actual illness and the heavy duty antibiotics I was given to fight it, I ended up spending an entire week in a half-comatose feverish haze, pretty much confined to my bed and sofa with short side-trips to the bathroom for an occasional change of scenery. Then, once my throat started feeling better, my allergies kicked in full-force, and I had to wait until after the weekend to ask my doctor whether it was safe to take an antihistamine with all my other meds. Needless to say, I was in no condition to sing or write anything!
